NAPOLEON SAILS FOR ST HELENA
The former emperor has left Plymouth sound aboard HMS Northumberland, bound for the island of St Helena.
Napoleon was accompanied by Marshal Bertrand, with his family, Count and Countess Montholon and their child, Count Lascassas, and General Gourgaud as well as twelve servants.
St Helena, situated in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, is believed to be the most secure place of exile for the former emperor.
It is reported that the former emperor has made an official complain to the British government.
